Lintel keeps everything on your device. It has no user accounts, no servers of our own, and no analytics or tracking. We do not collect, see, sell or share the information you put into the app. Data leaves your device only when you choose to share or export it — for example, sending a floorplan pack or an evidence backup from the iOS share sheet.

This information is stored locally. We have no copy of it and no ability to access it remotely.
If you choose to add a photo or scan a room, iOS asks your permission to use the camera or your photo library. Photos you add and room scans you capture are saved into the app's storage on your device. They are used only to build your records and the documents you generate. They are not uploaded anywhere.
You can decline these permissions; the app still works, you just won't be able to add photos or scan rooms until you allow them.
If you turn on certificate reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device to remind you before a certificate expires. These are generated and delivered entirely on your device; no reminder data is sent to us or anyone else.
When you type into the postcode field while setting up a property, the app sends only the postcode characters you have typed to postcodes.io — a free, open-source lookup service built on Ordnance Survey and Office for National Statistics open data — to suggest matching postcodes and, when you tap "Find council from postcode" or pick a suggestion, to identify the local authority for that area. No address, name or other information is ever sent, nothing is stored by us, and the feature is entirely optional: you can type the postcode in full and choose the council yourself from the list.
The floorplan pack is a one-off in-app purchase. Payment is handled by Apple through the App Store — we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to validate and manage purchases; RevenueCat receives a purchase identifier and device information to confirm your entitlement. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
When you export a floorplan pack (PDF), an evidence pack (PDF), or a full evidence backup (a zip file), the app hands the file to the iOS share sheet so you can send or save it wherever you choose. What happens to a file after you share it is governed by the service or app you send it to, not by us.
If you record information about tenants, contractors or others, you are the data controller for that information under UK data-protection law. Lintel is a tool that stores it locally for you; it is your responsibility to handle that information lawfully, including keeping it secure and only for as long as you need it. The app helps you delete records you no longer need.
Lintel is a tool for landlords and is not directed at children.
Your data stays on your device until you delete it — an individual record, a property, or the whole app. Deleting the app removes its local data from the device. Because we hold no copy, we cannot restore data for you; keep your own backups using the export feature.
